Wayne L. Anderson

Wayne L. Anderson, 75, of Cooperstown, ND passed away at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, ND on October 20, 2022, after a long battle with COPD.

Wayne was born to Alfred and Joan (Morris) Anderson on December 16, 1946, in St. Johns Newfoundland, Canada. He grew up on the family farm near Glenfield, ND and graduated from Cooperstown High School in 1965.

Wayne married Diane (Reese) on July 6, 1965, and they made Cooperstown their forever home.  They raised three children, Loran, Kurt, and Terri.

Wayne worked at Farmers Oil Co. and for Tim Lien at the Champlain service station until he and Diane purchased the Texaco service station in Cooperstown.  They owned and operated Anderson Service (Texaco) for ten years.  They purchased the family farm near Glenfield, ND in 1979 and farmed for 42 years.  In 2018, their grandson took over the farm.  Like a typical retired farmer, Wayne remained active in the farm operation until his death.  Wayne had a deep love for the land and all that it provided. His favorite place was on the tractor or driving around in his pickup shooting gophers.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 57 years, Diane (Reese), Cooperstown, ND, children; sons Loran (Allison), Cooperstown, ND, Kurt (Marsha), Colton, SD, and daughter Terri, Fargo, ND.  6 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and sister Judy (Dave) Zimprich, Cooperstown.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Doug and Richard, nephew, Chad Zimprich and sister-in-law, Berny.

Visitation will be  Monday, October 24, 2022 from 6:30 pm till 7:30 pm at  the Carriage House (402 9^th St SE) Cooperstown, ND.  Visitation will continue Tuesday, October 25, 2022 from 2:00 pm till 3:00 pm followed by a Funeral Service at 3:00 pm in the Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral Home, Cooperstown, ND.  Interment will be in the Cooperstown Cemetery, Cooperstown, ND.
