TINA CARLSON

Tina Jean Carlson, age 50 of Finley, ND, died Friday, June 28th at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo.

Tina was born June 20, 1974 in Mayville, ND to Dana and Carol (Mikkelson) Carlson. She was raised on the family farm west of Finley and graduated from Finley-Sharon Public School in 1992. Tina graduated from North Dakota State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and minors in Chemistry and Mathematics. She worked in Fargo for United Blood Services, PRACS, and Cetero Research. She later joined Dana and Craig on the family farm and felt like farming was her true calling.

Tina wore many hats, but Aunt was by far her favorite. She loved her nieces and nephews immensely and could easily be persuaded with the right smile. Tina gladly attended events, accompanied family trips, and hosted sleepovers on a weekly basis.

Throughout her life Tina was a die-hard football fan, particularly Joe Montana and her beloved Dallas Cowboys. She loved reading, especially Karin Slaughter and Mary Higgins Clark. Tina was also a big fan of Disney, Star Wars, and Harry Potter.

Tina was kind to everyone and put others above herself. She felt friends were just as important as family and had many friends that became her family. Faith was also very important to Tina and she was a lifelong member of Sheyenne Valley Lutheran Church. In keeping with Tina’s loving and generous spirit, it was her decision to donate life so that others may live through the gift of her organs and tissues.

Tina will be greatly missed by her cats, Midnight and Dory; mother Carol and grandmother Laura Jean; her siblings, Pam and Rob Ressler (Dominic and Shane), Michael and Tanya Carlson (Madison and McKinley), and Craig and Melissa Carlson (Theodore and Spencer); Laura’s children Winona and William Welle; three aunts Jennifer & Dennis Bayer, Vickie & Randy Lindquist, and Gail & Keith Vandal; two uncles Larry Carlson, and Farrel & Gail Carlson; many cousins and numerous friends.

She was preceded in death by her person Laura Welle, father Dana Carlson, grandparents Kermit Carlson and Vince and Ardys Mikkelson, and her aunt Carla Carlson.

A Memorial Service will be Friday, July 12, 2024 at 2:00 pm in the Sheyenne Valley Lutheran Church, rural Finley, ND. Visitation will be one hour before services.

The family asks that memorials be directed to the Sheyenne Valley Cemetery Fund or Finley Public Library.
