THOMAS J. BRECKHEIMER

Thomas Joel Breckheimer, age 53, died Saturday, January 28^th, at his home in Luverne, ND.

Thomas (Tom) was born September 27^th, 1969, in Devils Lake, ND, to Monte and Betty (Risgaard) Breckheimer. He was raised on their family farm, south of Tolna, and graduated from Tolna High School in 1988. Tom graduated with an associate degree from Valley City State University and the Lineman Program at Bismarck State College.

He married Tricia Jacobsen on October 24^th, 1992. They moved to Montevideo, MN, and Tom worked for Peterson Electric. They moved back to Luverne, ND, in 1994 where Tom worked on the Jacobsen family farm. Together, Tom and Tricia were blessed with four children.

Tom’s life revolved around watching his children grow up, especially going to their sporting events.  He enjoyed farming, hunting, and fishing. He was always willing to help somebody in need and loved his family and community.

Tom was a true conversationalist, and a great storyteller…BS. He spent his summers with his family at their cabin in Sibley, ND, on Lake Ashtabula. Tom was a member of the Sons of the Legion in Hope, ND, and was on the board of Willow Lake Township. He was looking forward to being a Grandpa in May and farm with his son, Sully.

Tom is survived by his wife, Tricia; his mother, Betty (Butch) Breckheimer Stokka; his children, Kendra (Andrew) Wolff, Sully Breckheimer, Zoie Breckheimer, and Darby Breckheimer; two brothers, Jim (Tonya), and Paul; many nieces and nephews; and numerous friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Monte Breckheimer; his brother, Jay Breckheimer; his father and mother-in-law, Ken and Linda Jacobsen.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Nelson County Arts Council and the Monte Breckheimer Art Scholarship Fund at 121 Main St. Pekin, ND   58361.

Visitation will be Thursday, February, 2, 2023 from 4:00 pm till 6:00 pm followed by a Prayer Service at 6:00 pm in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, rural Dazey, ND.  A Funeral Service will be Friday, February 3, 2023, at 10:00 am in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, rural Dazey, ND.  Interment will be in the Luverne Cemetery, Luverne, ND at a later date.
