Shirley Ethen, 97, Binford, ND, died Sunday, October 14, 2018 in the Griggs County Care Center, Cooperstown, ND. 

Shirley Ethel (Jones) Ethen was born December 20^th, 1920 on her grandfather’s farm in Griggs County. Daughter of Thomas and Blanch (Flick) Jones. She grew up on her family farm where she preferred to work outside with the animals. Her love for animals continued throughout her entire life.

She then married Kenneth Ethen April 10, 1944 in Moorhead, MN. The couple then bought their farm near Binford, ND where they farmed and started their family.  Shirley had 3 sons Gary, Danny, and Scott.  She loved working with her animals, flowers, art and traveling to many places with Kenny. Shirley was a very active grandma to all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She truly loved her family!

She is survived by: her -2- sons, Gary (Carole) Ethen of Laramie, WY, Scott Sr. (Kim) Ethen of Bismarck, ND. -4- Grandchildren, Michelle Hoyt (Randy), Patrick (Wanda) Ethen, Scott II. Ethen (Jen), Danielle (Chris) Hook, -10- great grandchildren, Allen Hoyt, Brianna, Alex Ethen, Maddison, Scott III., Wyatt Ethen, Liberty, Kenna, Rylen and Remy Hook; Linda Roll, Buddy and many step grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Proceeded in death by: her parents, husband, son Danny, -2- sisters, and brother.

Funeral Services will be Friday, October 19, 2018 at 11:00 am in the Binford Public School, Binford, ND.  Visitation will be Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 5:00 till 7:00 in the Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral Home, Cooperstown, ND and one hour before services in the School.  A Prayer Service will be Thursday at 6:00 pm in the Funeral Home.  Interment will be in the Trinity Cemetery, Binford, ND.
