SELMA EGGERMONT

Selma Hortensiam Eggermont, 99 of Jessie ND died September 25, 2019 at Nelson County Health System Care Center, McVille, ND.

Selma Hortensiam Eggermont was born June 24^th 1920 on a farm in rural Griggs County to Alfons and Louise (Franqué) Eggermont.

Selma was baptized at St. Lawrence Catholic Church on July 4^th 1920. As a young child Selma suffered a traumatic brain injury. During her adult life she helped on the farm. Selma spent her later years enjoying working on her embroidery and latch hook projects. Selma also loved raking leaves, going for walks, and caring for her flowers, house plants, and tomatoes. She got a great deal of joy from the little children in her life and would often enjoy rocking them to sleep. On May 25, 2016 Selma entered the care center. During her stay she loved listening to Polka music on her Alexa.

She is survived by one sister: Margaret Maertens, McVille, ND, several nieces and nephews: George (Sharon) Maertens, Mary (Gerrit) DeVries, Henry (MaryAnn) Maertens, Theresa (Pat) Gross, Joseph (Karla) Maertens, Dorothy (Alan) Mowbray, Clifford (Diane) Eggermont, Marie Pelzman, LeRoy (Loretta) Eggermont, Raymond Eggermont, Henry (Judy) Zimprich, Mark Zimprich, Virginia (Kevin) Pedersen. Several Great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers; Christ, Carlos, & Camiel Eggermont, one sister Irene (Carl) Zimprich, Niece Ann Warlick, Nephews; Ralph Pelzman, William Eggermont, Alfred Eggermont.

The family would like to thank Nelson County Health System-Care Center for its great care.

Visitation will be Sunday, September 29, 2019 from 5:00 till 6:30 pm in the Quam-Plaisted- Cushman Funeral Home in Cooperstown, ND, with a Rosary/Prayer Service at 6:30, visitation will continue Monday, September 30, 2019 in St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Jessie, ND, from 9:30 to 10:30 an, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 am. Interment will be in the St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery.
