PATRICIA RICKFORD

Patricia (Patty) Rickford, 85, Jessie, ND died Saturday, September 15, 2018 in her home. 

Patricia Lou Gertrude Rahlf was born January 6, 1933 on their farm near Glenfield, ND the daughter of Bill and Alice (Leininger) Rahlf.  The family moved to a farm near Binford, ND where she grew up and attended rural school.

She married Reynold Rickford, December 21, 1954 in Carrington, ND, the couple made their home on several farms in the Binford area before settling on the family farm near Jessie, ND.  They raised cows, chickens, pigs and sheep.  Patty delivered eggs and cream to many customers in the area. When her children where grown she worked at the Binford Grocery store where she meet many friend until it burnt down.  Helping friends and neighbors was a big part of Patty’s life.

Patty loved softball, horseshoes, playing cards, crossword puzzles, hunting deer where there was always extended family and young children to spend time with.

She  is survived by her husband, Reynold, Jessie, ND; two daughters, Sheila (Larry) Bakken, Fargo, ND, Alice (Keith) Carr, Fargo, ND; four sons, Dale  (Deb), Harwood, ND, Douglas (Carol), Kenny (Christy), Keith (Joyce) all of Binford, ND;  24 Grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; two sisters; Kay Bear, Glenfield, ND, Alice (Chuck) DeHoff, Binford, ND; six brothers, William (Nikki) Rahlf, Sutton, ND, James Rahlf, Cooperstown, ND, Ronald (Karen) Rahlf, Binford, ND, Jerald, Daniel and Timothy, Binford, ND;  along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Patty was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Alice; sisters, Dorothy Everson, Marilyn Roth; brother, David; infant son, Jacob and granddaughter, Rachel Tande.

Funeral services will be Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the Zion Lutheran Church, rural Binford, ND.  Visitation will be Wednesday, September 19, 2018 from 5:00 till 7:00 in the Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral Home in Cooperstown, ND and one hour before services in the Church.  A Prayer Service will be Wednesday at 7:00 pm in the Funeral Home.  Interment will be in the Zion Cemetery, rural Binford, ND.
