Pamela Jean Amundson (Welder) passed away peacefully on July 6, 2023 at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, ND.
Pam was born January 15, 1954 to Pearl and Frank Welder. She was the youngest of three children, and would remind people of this often.
She attended Finley Public School, where she was a cheerleader for the Wildcats. This is where she met Wayne. They went to college at the North Dakota State College of Science, married, and spent several years in Fargo. In 1978, they headed home to the family farm, where she was a huge help. In February 1981, they had a daughter, Dori, who she was very proud of. Pam supported her in everything she did, whether it was cheering her on in sports, making "rough" calls line judging her volleyball games, encouraging her through college, or helping her raise her children, she was there for it all.
In 2000, Pam started work at the Finley Courthouse, where she was known as the "Jack of all trades." For 20 years she held many positions, including Deputy Clerk of Court, Treasurer, Auditor, and Sheriff. She brought much happiness to the workplace and was known for her smile. She retired in 2020, in time to start enjoying her grandson Gryffin, and soon after, Gannyn. Watching the joy those boys brought to her was priceless. During her recent hard times, the love she had for them showed, and helped her remain strong. "Grandma Honey," as Gryff called her, was always spoiling them.
Pam will also be remembered for her endless collections; purses, bowls, shoes, and giraffe knickknacks to name a few. More importantly, she will be remembered for her heart. She had one of the sweetest, kindest, and most selfless hearts anyone could have.
Pam is survived by her proud daughter, Dori Amundson (Chad Dahl) and grandsons, Gryffin and Gannyn, West Fargo, ND; her sister Paula Moe, Robbinston, ME; her brother Brian (Teresa) Welder, Larimore, ND; Wayne Amundson, Hope, ND; along with many nieces and nephews, and countless friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Pearl and Frank, and granddaughter Sophia.
