MIKE SEVERSON

Michael Vivien Severson, 60, died Wednesday March 20th, 2024 at his home in Moorhead surrounded by family after being diagnosed with Prion Disease.
 
 Mike was born on February 3, 1964 to Loran and Kaye Severson in Fargo, ND. Mike grew up in Hope, ND where he attended school and graduated in 1982. He went on to attended Valley City State University. On March 5th, 1983 he married his high school sweet heart Janelle Mitzel at St. Agatha’s Catholic Church. They went on to raise their 4 children; Dustin, Betsy, Allie, and Marty in Hope.
 
 After farming in Hope, ND for 12 years he worked at the Hope Farmers Elevator for 25 years.  He took a job at the City of Dilworth in 2020 for 2 years and returned to the Hope Elevator.
 
 Mike enjoyed hunting, spending time at the lake, a good conversation by the bonfire and being with his family. He was an avid Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan and enjoyed watching and sharing his love of sports with his kids and grandkids. His greatest joy was his kids and grandkids and was so proud of each one of them.
 
 He is survived by his wife of 41 years Janelle; son Dustin (Ashley) Severson; daughter Betsy (Brock) Brend ; daughter Allison (Travis) McNamara; son Martin (Stephanie) Severson; grandchildren William, Lila, Jamison, Baya, Jack, Mila, Kamden, Tripp, Krosby, Everett and Kaiser; his parents Loran and Kaye Severson; siblings Dave (Maryann) Severson and Cindy (Mike) Koenig; sisters-in-law Darla (Robert) Harstad, Deedee (Dick) Kofoid and Julie (Curt) Zerface; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
 
 He was preceded in death by his brother Scott Severson; his nephew Jordan Severson; sister-in-law Joletta Ihry; grandparents Vivien and Neva Visby; mother-in-law Agnes Mitzel and Father-in-law Alfred Mitzel.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 26, 2024 from 5:00 pm till 7:00 pm in St. Agatha’s Catholic Church, Hope, ND, a Prayer Service will held at 6:30,  visitation will continue Wednesday, March 27, 2024 from10:00 am till 11:00 am followed by a  Funeral Services at 11:00 am in the Church.
