MARJORIE E. LARSON
Marjorie E. Larson, age 92, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2021 in the Sunnyside Care Center, Lake Park, MN. She was born in Steele County, North Dakota to Edward and Louise (Steinke) Gunkel on August 19, 1928.
She attended school in Hugo Township, ND and High School in Hope, ND. Following graduation, she attended Mayville State Teachers College. She taught school in Walden School, Broadlawn Township and Eastman Township.
Marjorie and Allen E. Larson were united in marriage on June 4, 1948 in Hope, ND. They lived on a farm near Glenfield, moved in to McHenry in 1950 and Cooperstown, ND in 1961. Marjorie was Librarian at the Griggs County Library in Cooperstown, retiring in 1995. She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church, and enjoyed reading, crocheting, gardening and flowers.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Willard and Marvin, and sister Joyce.
Surviving Marjorie are her 2 sons, Allen Jr. (Renata), and Larry (Bette). 5 grandchildren, Trisha (Shane) Germann, Jay Larson, Sara Larson, Jodi (Bryan) Rich and Ivy (Sean) Maday, 7 great grandchilren, Talia and Corbin Germann, Colin and Keller Rich, Andi, Iris, and Elsi Maday and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral Home in Cooperstown, ND on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. with a prayer service at 11:00 a.m. Following the visitation and prayer service, interment will be in the Sunset Gardens Cemetery, Jamestown, ND at 1:00 p.m. A livestream link will be available of the visitation/prayer service on Marjorie's obituary page at the website of Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral Home.
The family would like to thank the staff at Sunnyside Care Center, Lake Park, MN for the loving care they provided to Marjorie this last year and a half of her life.
