LORI KINGSTON
Lori Beth (Johnson) Kingston passed away June 4th, 2022, at the Hospice House in Fargo.
Lori was born June 2nd, 1959, in Mayville ND to Morris and Goldie Johnson. She grew up in Hope, ND and graduated from Hope High School in 1977.
Lori worked as a nurses' aid at St. Luke’s Hospital in Fargo and the Fireworks Station in Arthur, ND.
Lori married Tom Kingston on February 7th, 1994. They lived in Pillsbury and operated the bar there before purchasing the Hope Sports Bar. After purchasing the Sports Bar Tom and Lori moved to Hope. Tom died in 1997 and Lori continued to own and operate the bar with her right-hand woman, Connie Fetzer. Lori sold the bar in the fall of 2021.
Lori loved to travel with Tom and after his death continue to travel with friends. She was always up for a trip to the casino, a game of marbles or a Saturday with the girls hitting garage sales. She loved old westerns and good books, and recently became a huge fan of Yellowstone. Lori loved being a grandma and her face always lit up when she could talk about her grandkids. She was even able to travel to San Antonio to see her grandson Alex graduate from Air National Guard Basic Training. A memorable moment for them both.
Lori spent the last months of her life at Sanford Hospice House in Fargo. The family would like to thank the Hospice House staff for all of the wonderful care they gave Lori. She always made sure to mention how great she was being taken care of to her visitors.
Lori is survived by Michael (Heidi) Kingston, Hope, ND, Alex Kingston, Fargo, ND, Serina Kingston Roohi, Phoenix, AZ, Shapour Roohi, Phoenix, AZ; Sisters Jan (Roy) Daschendorf, Hope, ND, Barb Jacobsen, Luverne, ND, Deb (Steve) Satrom; Brothers Larry Johnson, Tim (Deb) Johnson; Brother-in-law, Maynard Satrom; Sister-in-law Judy (Gary) Ross, all of her nieces and nephews and many friends that treated her like family.
She was preceded in death by husband, Tom Kingston, stepson, Maury Kingston, stepdaughter, Monica Kingston-Roohi. Parents Morris and Goldie Johnson, sister, Judy Satrom, grandparents Clarence and Clara Bayer.
A Memorial Service will be Monday, June 13, 2022 at 2:00 pm in the Redeemer Lutheran Church, Hope, ND. Visitation will be from 1:00 till 2:00 at the church. Interment will be in the Hope Cemetery, Hope, ND.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sanford Hospice House, Fargo, ND in Lori’s memory.
