Mary L. Walsh, age 81, of Fort Collins, Colorado died October 14, 2019, at her home.
Born in Langdon, North Dakota, Mary was one of ten children born to Lawrence and Lillian Hell. She attended Business College in Fargo, ND and soon after began her life’s work as a banker. Her first job was with Merchants Bank in Fargo. In August of 1967, Mary and Larry Walsh were married at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Fargo. They moved to Hope, ND and in 1988 moved to Fort Collins, Colorado.
Mary was a long-time and active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Collins. She helped serve funeral dinners, participated in prayer groups, The Altar and Rosary Society and weekly card groups. She was a member of a Celiac (sufferers) social group and spent many years enjoying travel and camping with her husband.
Mary is survived by her husband, Larry; two sons, David (and Denise) of Alexandria, VA and Tom (and Tiffini) of Greeley, CO; three grandchildren, Carly, Sara and Maddox; two brothers, Robert Hell and Dennis Hell of Milwaukee, WI; four sisters, Eileen Hanson of Clearbrook, MN, Yvonne Schuler of Langdon, ND, Grace Hell of Los Angeles, CA and Joanne Hell of Minneapolis, MN. She was preceded in death by three brothers, David, Roger and Wesley Hell.
A Celebration of life will be Friday, July 15, 2022 at St. Agatha’s Catholic Church in Hope, ND followed by burial in the Hope Cemetery.
Larry E. Walsh, 79 of Fort Collins, CO died March 8, 2022, at his home.
Larry Edmond Walsh was born in 1942 in Fargo, ND to Daniel and Ellen Walsh. He grew up in Hope, ND, attended the University of North Dakota and served in the National Guard for over a decade. He was self-employed most of his life, having owned and operated the John Deere and Ford Dealership in Hope, ND.
In 1967, Larry married Mary Hell from Langdon, ND at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Fargo and together they have two sons, David and Tom. In 1987, he sold the dealership and moved to Northern Colorado where he operated a picture framing business and ran the customer service department of Burris Optics in Greeley, CO. Larry was an avid hunter, outdoorsman and competitive shooter. Larry and Mary enjoyed regular camping in Colorado
Sadly, Mary died in 2019. Larry is survived by his sons, David (and Denise) of Alexandria, VA, and Tom Walsh of Fort Collins, and three grandchildren, Carly, Sara and Maddox, as well as his sister, Patricia Shogren Fladeland, who lives in Texas.
