KERRY  GROTTE

Kerry Grotte, of Moorhead, MN, was born April 27th, 1964, In Mayville, North Dakota. [Kerry passed away November 7th, 2023, after a battle with lung cancer.] [Kerry accepted Jesus at the Bible Baptist Church Camp, in Washburn, North Dakota, while a young lad.] Kerry was the youngest son of Marvin & June Grotte, who resided on a farm in the Finley, North Dakota area in the 1960’s. Kerry’s education began in the Finley Public school, and later continued at Walhalla, North Dakota, in the early 1970’s, when the family relocated to that area for a work opportunity. He was a very pleasant, smart, athletic, lovable young red headed fellow! Kerry continued his education at Gardner, North Dakota, when the family relocated for work again. The pattern continued, to Mandan, Bismarck, Bloomington, etc. October 8, 2005, Kerry was married for several years, to Connie JoAnn Thompson, After Connie’s passing, Kerry lived in a high rise apartment building in Moorhead, MN. The other residents & management in the high rise, made statements of how much they loved Kerry. He was #1 at that residence.

Kerry’s [Connie’s] family; Stepsons, Nathan, & Lucas Thompson, Nathan’s significant other Shey, & their son Hayden, & daughter, Avery. Preceded in death by immediate family members; Parents, June & Marvin [Red] Grotte, nephew David Paul Grotte, brother Paul Neil Grotte, Brother in law Robert Torkelson. Survived by; Sisters, Flora [Keith] Klevgard, Anita Torkelson, Brothers Clark [Kelly] Grotte, Mark [Wendy] Grotte, Errol [Melba] Grotte. Also survived by Sister in law, Karen [Paul] Grotte. Also survived by many Aunts, Uncles, Niece’s, Nephews & cousins.

Kerry always loved Birthdays & Holidays. [He wasn’t fond of traveling.] He would always call family about these, & sent out many greeting cards. Kerry, Mom’s long awaited Red Headed Son, Will not be forgotten.

 Visitation will be Saturday, November 18, 2023 from 10:00 am till 11:00 am followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 am in the Finley American Legion, Finley, ND.
