JOYCE L. COLE
Joyce Leona Cole, 93, passed away at Hatton Prairie Village Nursing Home on December 5th, 2024.
Joyce Hagebock Cole was born October 13th, 1931 to Arthur and Matilda (Vierkandt) Hagebock. She was raised in Hope, ND and graduated from Hope High School in 1949.
Joyce worked at Shorty’s Food Market and Hope Locker Plant, which her father owned, in Hope. After moving to Fargo, she worked at Red Owl and DeLendrecie’s. In later years, she worked at The Fairway Store for Mic and Jim.
On December 29th, 1951, Joyce married Warren J. Cole in Moorhead MN. They lived in Fargo, ND and in 1954 moved back to Hope where they lived the rest of their married life. Joyce and Warren were married for 65 years. In 2020, Joyce moved to Hatton Prairie Village.
Joyce was a member of the United Church of Hope and treasurer for many years. She was also a member of the first Hope Housing Board.
Joyce enjoyed sewing, bingo, puzzles and visiting over coffee with friends and family.
Joyce is survived by her two children, Ronald (Brenda) Cole, and Tammy (Scott) Parkman, Grandchildren Mike (Annie) Jacobson, Monica (Nick) Adair, Brent Jacobson, Tyler (Heather) Parkman, Katie (Cam) Berg, Ryan (Kari) Cole, Andy (Kailee) Fruetel and Katie Fruetel. Great grandchildren Ethan Jacobson, Cierra Jacobson, Xavier Jacobson, Spencer Jacobson, Parker Bruce, Aubrey Adair, Gracelyn Adair, Kaden Jacobson, Dylan Jorgensen, Oliver Parkman, Kaleb Ingebretson, Juniper Cole, Tillie Fruetel, Kinsley Fruetel, Hunter Fruetel, Ryder Fruetel, James Fruetel, and Jada Fruetel.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Warren and her daughter Darcel Jacobson, her parents, five sisters and two brothers.
Joyce will be deeply missed by many. The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff and residents at Hatton Prairie Village for taking such good care of her and loving her these past few years.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 13th at 11 a.m. with visitation 1 hour before at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hope. Interment will be at the Hope Cemetary.
