Jerald Carl Rahlf, 76, Binford, ND went to be with our heavenly father June 3, 2020 after a courageous 11 month battle with leukemia.
Jerald was born May 30th, 1944 the son of William and Alice (Leininger) Rahlf on the family farm, rural Binford. He was Baptized June 18th, 1944 by Pastor Loutz and confirmed on June 5th, 1960 by Pastor Knight at Zion Lutheran church rural Binford. He attended Clearfield country school near the family farm until 1959 when it closed. He then attended school in Binford, ND where he graduated in 1963. He attended Wahpeton State school of Science where he earned his degree in auto mechanics in 1964.
He lost his leg at the age of 13 in a gun accident. Nothing slowed him down. Jerald loved fishing, hunting, loved family time, visiting, collecting stamps and playing cards with his nieces, nephews and brothers.
Jerald along with his brothers Daniel, David and Tim ran the family dairy farm for many years. If something broke down or wouldn’t run he was busy fixing it or getting it to run.
Jerald is survived by two sisters: Kay Bear, Glenfield, ND, Alice (Chuck) DeHoff, Binford, ND; four brothers, William (Nikki) Rahlf, Sutton, ND, James Rahlf, Cooperstown, ND, Ronald (Karen) Rahlf, Binford, ND, and Daniel, Binford, ND; brother-in-law Reynold Rickford of Jessie, ND, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jerald was preceded in death by his parents; Bill and Alice; three sisters: Patricia Rickford, Marilyn Roth, Dorothy Everson; two brothers, David, and Timothy; sister-in-law Judy Rahlf; brothers-in-law, Bob Bear, Harold Roth and Bob Everson, along with several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 10, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm in the Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral Home. Interment will be Thursday, June 11, 2020 at 10:00 am in Zion Cemetery, rural Binford, ND.
