Jean Savre 

1941 - 2025

Jean F. Savre, 83, of Cooperstown, ND passed away on January 2, 2025 in the home where she was raised in Cooperstown.

Born in 1941 to Alford and Rudha Sanderson, Jean graduated from Cooperstown High School in 1959 and went on to study hairdressing in Fergus Falls, MN. Jean worked as a hairdresser in Fargo, ND, before returning home to work at the Hi-Way Beauty Shoppe with her mother. In 1964 Jean married Donald Savre and together they raised two sons on their farm north of Cooperstown. Jean purchased the Hi-Way Beauty shoppe in 1976. After twenty-six years she closed her business in 2002 and worked with Sharon Larson at Studio 51 before retiring in 2015. Jean was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Cooperstown.

Jean will be remembered by all who knew her for her enduring strength, wisdom, and nurturing and patient nature along with love and pride for her family. She will never be forgotten as wife, mother, sister and friend. We will carry her spirit in our hearts always.

She is preceded in passing by her parents and son Jason. Jean’s surviving family includes husband, Donald Savre; son, Preston and his wife Athena; granddaughters, Alexis (Connor) Larson & Tesla Christenson; and sister Karen (Gerald) Burkhart.

Honoring Jean’s request, a family graveside Memorial Service will be held at Cooperstown Cemetery this Summer. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to a charity of your choice.
