GLORIS GRONNEBERG
Gloris Gronneberg was born on February 20, 1929 to Clarence and Esther Olson, rural Griggs County. Gloris was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Cooperstown where she was actively involved with Ladies Aide, Sunday School and Bible School. She was also a life time member of the American Legion Auxiliary and VFW Auxiliary.
Gloris attended grades 1-8 at Kinglsey #1 Country School where she was the only one in her class. She attended High School in McHenry and graduated from Sutton. While finishing High school and working at the hotel for room and board she met Elmer. They married on July 22, 1947 at Zion Lutheran Church, rural Griggs county. They celebrated their 75th wedding Anniversary last July.
After their marriage, they lived and farmed in Mabel Township (near Sutton, ND) until moving to Cooperstown in 1962. However they continued to farm.
Mom loved gardening and always had an abundance of peas. She was an avid bowler and card player, especially Pinochle. She also enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins. She loved to cook and everything was absolutely delicious. She was a terrific farm wife helping with the harvest and taking full course meals to the field along with lunches. Gloris also loved visiting with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Gloris is survived by her husband, Elmer, Children, Eugene (Paulette) Gronnebeg, Karen (Dennis) Brodina and Amy Person. Also she is survived by 10 Grandchildren, 17 Great Grandchildren. And 1 great great grandchild. Two Brothers, Dick Olson and Melvin Olson and two sisters, Avis Sather and Linda Wendlick also survive. Also surviving are two step grandchildren and four step great grandchildren.
Gloris was preceded in death by her parents, Four brothers, Art, Bob, Don and Carl and two sisters, Irene Wieland and Esther Nelson. Also one son-in-law, Bob Person.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 17th from 1:00 to 2:00 followed by the Funeral Service at 2:00 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cooperstown, ND. Interment will be in the Cooperstown Cemetery, Cooperstown, ND.
