FERN DOROTHY SKJERET

Fern Dorothy Skjeret, 87, Hannaford, ND passed away June 18, 2022 at SMP Health St. Raphael, Valley City, ND.

Fern was born on February 28, 1935 to Ernest and Dorothy (Anderson) Lausch, Dazey, ND.  She attended country schools in the Dazey are and graduated ferom Dazey High School in 1953.  She worked at the the ASC office in Cooperstown, ND.

She married Alfred (Sonny) Skjeret on June 4, 1955. They lived and farmed in the Dazey and Hannaford area.  She was a cook at the Country Corner Café in Walum, ND and at the Stri King Lanes in Hannaford, She retired at the age of 80.

Fern was a member of St Olaf Lutheran Church in Walum, ND and a member of Sibley Trail Homemakers for years.

She is survived by 3 children, Vicki (Greg) Mueller, Dazey, ND, Rod (Denise) Skjeret, Jamestown, ND and Linda Hollinshead (Del Trzpuc) Kathryn, ND; 13 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; sister, Janice Harstead, Valley City, ND; brother, David Lausch, Moorhead, MN;  sisters in law, Connie Louden, Cooperstown, ND, Jeanette Skjeret, Jamestown, ND,  Myrna Thompson, Bozeman, MT; brother in law, Loren Skjeret, Billings, MT.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred; 2 sons, Gregory and Bradley; 2 brothers, Marlyn (Bud) Lausch and Dale Lausch; her parents, Ernest and Dorothy Lausch; sisters in law, Iyla Lausch, Candy Lausch, Audrey Ouren, and Vivian Goplen; brothers in law, Ken Harstead, Leon Skjeret, Gilman Goplen, Glenn Ouren and Duane Louden.
