Eldris Adair Wilkens

Eldris Adair Wilkens, 88, passed away peacefully on , August 16, 2018 at Luther Memorial Home in Mayville, ND.

Eldris Wilkens, daughter of Enoch and Josephine (Sampson) Berg was born January 30, 1930 in Finley, ND. She grew up in Finley with her 4 sisters and graduated from Finley High School in 1948. She married Walter Wilkens in 1950. She worked at the Farmer’s Union and later as secretary at the Finley School. They also lived in Cooperstown, ND where Walt operated the family business Wilkens Electric and Eldris worked for the Farmer’s Oil Co.  After retirement they moved to a farm east of Finley. Eldris enjoyed playing her organ and was an active member at Ostervold church. She and Walt enjoyed traveling and spent winters in Arizona. She loved baking bread and buns and the thinnest lefse (with Walt’s help).

She is survived by her daughters, Denise of Minneapolis, MN, Deanna of Maple Grove, MN, her son Dean (Becky) of Scottsdale, AZ and her daughter-in-law Brenda of Gilbert, AZ. She has 7 grandchildren: Chad (Jody), Ross (Christin), Katie (Jared), Jenna, Jason (Gloria), Tyler and Anna and 13 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, June Harshman of Casper, WY, Delores (Roland) Johnson of Finley, ND, Florence (Everardo) Del Toro of Apple Valley, MN; her brother-in-law Dick Wilkens of Bismarck and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Walter of 52 years; one son, Dale; one sister, Geraldine Berg of Fargo, ND.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Ostervold Lutheran Church cemetery fund.

Funeral services will be, Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at 2:00 in the Ostervold Lutheran Church, rural Finley, ND.  Visitation will be Tuesday, August, 21, 2018 from 5:00 till 7:00 in the Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral Home in Finley and one hour before services in the Church.  Interment will be in the Ostervold Cemetery.
