DUWAYNE (DEWEY) OVERBY

DuWayne “Dewey” Lincoln Overby, a beloved spouse, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on March 21, 2024, in Binford, ND. Born on February 12, 1964, in McVille, ND, Dewey was the son of Hans and Doris Overby.

Dewey will always be remembered for his infectious laughter and his willingness to help others. He touched the lives of many with his kind heart and generous spirit. Dewey's parents, Hans and Doris Overby, as well as his sister Gail Wayman & her husband, Larry,  preceded him in death.

Dewey is survived by his loving spouse, Bonnie Skaufel, and his children Cody (Madison), Jessica (Ty), and Ashley (Brock). He is also survived by Bonnie’s children Terrah (Matt), Shawn (Desi), and Oxanna (Chris). Dewey is blessed with 11 wonderful grandchildren Ayden, Logan, Davion, Lyam, Treyvon, Lennyn, Emery, Aiden, Quincy, Kaylis, & Lindy. Dewey's siblings Gloria (Harold), Judy (Steve), Buster, and Vikki (Keith), and his cousin Alan Wayman (Andrea) will always cherish the memories they shared with him.

Farming and Cattle were Dewey's true passion. He dedicated over 40 years of his life to working on the Iverson family farm. When he wasn't tending to the fields or caring for the cows, Dewey could be found indulging in his hobbies of fishing, hunting, or driving one of his classic cars with his son, Cody. He found immense joy in spending time with his grandchildren and creating lasting memories with them.

Dewey's service will be held privately at a later date to honor and celebrate his extraordinary life. His legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will forever be cherished by all who knew him. Dewey's presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known him. May he rest in peace.
