JAMES DON KILGORE

James Don Kilgore Jr, died peacefully in Finley, ND on June 27, 2023, at the age of 75.

Don was born on March 8, 1948, in Newport News, VA to Reverend J.D. Kilgore and Juanita (Meade) Kilgore. He graduated from high school in Pound, VA in 1966. He entered the United States Air Force in 1967 in Virginia. He was discharged in 1971 in Texas. Don was a Vietnam Veteran.

On June 3^rd, 1969, Don married Faye Thompson. Faye passed away in 1998. On July 6^th, 2000, he married JoAnn (Midstokke) Bjugstad. Don always said, “She is the love of my life.” JoAnn passed away March 2^nd, 2016.

Don spent his life in the Finley ND. Don began working for Finley Farmers Grain and Elevator at the anhydrous plant and with grain delivery until his retirement in 2008.

Don loved fishing with his wife JoAnn, enjoyed spending time with friends and spending the winter months in Arizona. He belonged to VFW and The Elks club

He is survived by his stepchildren, Shelly (Tony) Rodriguez of West Fargo, ND; JoDee Amundson of Fargo ND; Larry (Cindy)Thompson of Moorhead, MN, and Bradley (Edna) Thompson of Bremerton, WA. Grandchildren Luke Amundson, Matthew Rodriguez, Brittany, Cody, Hunter and Parker Thompson. Amber and Allen Sisters, Stella (Mac) Graham, Richmond VA, Adrian Brewer, Kingsport, TN, brother, Mark Kilgore, Kingsport, TN; niece, Jaydee Brewer, Kingsport, TN, nephew, Macy Brewer, Kingsport, TN.  and numerous great-grandchildren

He is preceded in death by his spouses Faye Kilgore and JoAnn Kilgore. Parents J.D. and Juanita Kilgore. Brother, David and step-son Ronnie.

Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, July 6^th at 11:00 am at the Finley Lutheran Church. Visitation will be from 10:00 am – 11:00 am.
