DIAN PELLA

Dian Sylvia (Rondestvedt) Pella, 72, Cooperstown, ND, died peacefully Tuesday, January 21, 2020, at Sanford Medical Center.

Dian was the 3^rd born daughter to Vernon and Thelma (Everson) Rondestvedt on a farm near Walum, ND on April 16, 1947.

Most of her life, Dian was raised in Dazey, ND graduating from North Central High School in 1965.  After high school she moved to Fargo doing clerical work at the West Fargo Stockyards.

On May 7, 1966, Dian was joined in marriage with James “Jim” Pella at St. George’s Catholic Church.  Making their home in rural Cooperstown, Jim and Dian brought 3 boys into this world, Michael, Timothy and Kent, she made the boys the center of her life. 

Obtaining her CNA license, Dian worked at the Griggs County Hospital/Medical Center in Cooperstown for many years, she acquired her EMT certification she caring for patients in the ambulance. Later working for Home Health, she cared for others and helped those in need – she was a very compassionate caregiver. 

Dian enjoyed watching football being a big NDSU Bison fan and select NFL teams.  In addition to football, she liked to play cards and spend time with family.  She loved to bake .  Everyone was a fan of her donuts, especially her grandchildren.

Leaving behind are her husband Jim of 53 years, her 3 sons Michael (Lenora), Timothy (Annette), and Kent, 5 grandchildren, Anthony, Brooke, Kelsey, Amanda “Mandy” and Brandon, her sister, Donelda “Doni” (Eric) Heyerdahl, her brother Donald “Don” (Gloria) Rondestvedt,  3 sisters in law Carol (Leroy Taxdahl), Joann Hagle, Beverly Ellefson, nieces and nephews Terry (Jo) Miller, DaRahn (Grant) Lebahn, Kari (Dave) Runsvold, Jeffery Sedler, Aaron (Allison) Rondestvedt, Donia (Cory) Kessler, Tiffany (Troy) Tokvam, Kevin (Sherry) Taxdahl, Keith (Susan) Taxdahl, Linda Taxdahl, Tony (Sophia) Taxdahl, Pam Rolle, Scott Hagle, Brent (Becky) Ellefson, Brenda (Chris) Domier, and 29 great nieces and nephews.

Dian was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Darlene Miller and Ronnie Rondestvedt, her brother David Rondestvedt, nephew Paul Sedler, and nieces Vicki Miller and Patty Hagle, mother and father in law Bernard and Olga Pella.

All services will be held at St. George’s Catholic Church, Cooperstown, ND.  Visitation will be held on Friday, January 24^th from 5-7 pm; Prayer service at 7 pm.   Funeral service Saturday, January 25^th at 10:30 am.
