Denise A. Thomas

Denise (Denny) Thomas, 72, Cooperstown, ND,  passed away peacefully on Sunday May 7, 2023 in Aneta Parkview Health Center, Aneta, ND.

Denny was born September 14, 1950 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Merrill A. and Suzanne Grogel.  She worked for the Government making her home in the Washington, D.C. area.  She married Bruce Thomas August 31, 1985, the couple made their home in Virginia.  They moved to Cooperstown in November of 1990, renovating a Victorian style farmhouse where they made there home. The couple worked on the house for two years before they could move in. Bruce passed away January 10, 2008.  Denny continued to make her home in Cooperstown.  She enjoyed golfing and participating in local community events. 

She is survived by her brother, Merrill W. Grogel of Middletown, NJ; partner, Blair Cussons, Cooperstown, N; step children, Anne (Mark) Johnson, Wendy Thomas (John Weatherwax).

Preceded in death by her parents, Merrill A. and Suzanne Grogel; husband, Bruce Thomas is deceased and buried in Cooperstown ND.

Funeral service will be, Thursday , May 25, 2023 at 3:00 in the Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral Home, Cooperstown, ND with visitation will be one hour before,  Interment will be in the Cooperstown Cemetery.
