DEBRA WALLACE

Debra Wallace (66), of Cooperstown, ND, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2020 at Cooperstown Medical Center, Cooperstown, ND.

Debra Sue Hoffman was born on July 12, 1954 in Elgin, Illinois, the daughter of Donald and Katherine (Palmer) Hoffman. She was born into a military family and moved around growing up, but called Maryland home.  She graduated from Lawrence Central High School, Indianapolis, Indiana in 1972.

Deb married the love of her life William Wallace, on April 28, 1984 in Cooperstown, ND.  Together they made their home in Cooperstown and raised their four daughters. Deb ran a daycare out of her home for 9 years, and then worked in different capacities for GST Special services in Cooperstown and Portland, ND. From 1982- 1997 she served as a volunteer EMT-I for the Cooperstown Ambulance Squad. She was also a ND certified EMS and CPR instructor. After that time she was a homemaker and considered her most important work helping to care for her grandchildren. She owned her own store on Etsy where she sold beautifully sewn creations.

She was “The best of the best.” Her number one passion was spending time with her family. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She valued her family, friendships, and loved her animals. She was a woman of faith and was extraordinarily generous and kind. She was gifted with many talents; she was a master gardener, an exceptional seamstress, and expert crafter. She served in many roles in the community. She was a member of St. George Catholic Church, The Garden Club, and a volunteer for the Cooperstown Movie Theatre and Hospice.
