Dana Ronde Obituary
Dana Eric Ronde was born to Knud and Marilyn Ronde on September 23, 1958, the fourth of five children! He passed away March 23, 2022. He graduated from Hope High School in 1976 and following graduation entered the Navy and trained as a Medic. He spent the majority of his military career working as a medic in the emergency room at the Naval Air Station, Whidbey Island, Washington.
After being honorably discharged from the Navy in 1980 Dana attended the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND. He graduated Summa Cum Laude with degrees in math and science. Following graduation he continued his studies at UND in Grand Forks, ND where he received certification in Cytotechnology. He worked in St. Joseph, Missouri before returning home to North Dakota.
Growing up on a small farm in Hope, North Dakota Dana enjoyed pastimes of snowmobiling and motorcycles. He also enjoyed farming and had great many memories there. Dana especially loved spending time with his nieces and nephews and made great memories with them all!
One memory his siblings have with Dana was when, during the middle of winter returning home from a trip to Fargo, it was noticed that all the windows in the house were open in the 0 degree temperatures. Turns out Dana and his cousin Todd had totally filled the coal furnace in the house with coal while Dad (who was babysitting at the time) took a nap! It took a long day to cool the house down and Dad was in the “doghouse” rather than Dana and Todd!
As an adult, Dana’s pastimes included following NDSU Bison football, and he could cite facts about many of the NFL teams he followed. Football was his passion!
Dana is survived by sister Marcie Voss and kids Heather, Amy, Allison, and Bobbi Jo; brother Steve Ronde (Rocio) and daughter Lexie; sister Cindy Wagner (Tim) and kids Jessica, Nicole, and Nick; sister Lisa Erickson (Larry) and kids Garrett, Dillon, and Betsy; numerous spouses and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Knud and Marilyn Ronde.
A Memorial Service in Dana’s honor will be on Monday, April 18th, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Senior Center in Hope, ND. A light lunch will follow.
