It is with sadness that the family of Beverly Dolores Tranby (Olson), age 83,announce her death on September 28, 2022. She was born December 2, 1938 at the home of her Grandmother, Hattie Erickson, in Washburn Township, North Dakota to Gillman and Dolores (Erickson) Olson.

She attended rural Bolkan Elementary School and graduated from Cooperstown High School in 1956.

She married Orville Tranby of Blabon, ND on June 25, 1960 at Ness Lutheran Church. They moved to Chicago, Illinois, where her husband worked for Commonwealth Edison Power. In 1973 they returned to Cooperstown to take over the family farm. 62 years of marriage were celebrated this year.

Bev worked in banking for several years, followed by work in Medical Records at the Griggs County Hospital, and finally as the Griggs County Deputy Register of Deeds.

Bev was active in Church, Homemakers, 4H, the Cooperstown Historical Society (especially proud of the Cooperstown Museum), and the Ness Cemetery Association. She enjoyed travelling, horseback riding, bowling, and square dancing. She was known for her hospitality and love of people. Over the years she cared for many family members.

Bev leaves behind her husband Orville, and sons Scott (Cooperstown) and Wade (Sandra) (Apple Valley, MN), grandsons Jack and Wyatt, sisters Jacqueline (Leonard) Evenson (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada), Susan (Timothy) Wilhelm (Princeton, MN), and Gloria (Phil) Thompson (Warren MN), Aunt, Laura Jean Carlson, plus many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Sonny (George Oscar), and grandson Jonathan Tranby.

Bev was loved and will be missed by many.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be directed to the Cooperstown Museum, Ness Cemetery Association, and the Cooperstown Library.

Visitation will be  Monday, October 3, 2022 from 5:00 pm till 7:00 pm followed by a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm in the Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral Home in Cooperstown, ND.  Visitation will continue Tuesday, October 4, 2022 from 9:30 am till 10:30 am followed by a Funeral Service at 10:30 am in the Trinity  Lutheran Church in Cooperstown, ND.  Interment will be in the Ness Cemetery, rural Cooperstown, ND.
