BEATRICE V. ERICKSON

Beatrice V. Erickson, 91, Cooperstown, ND died Sunday, January 12, 2020 in the Griggs County Care Center, Cooperstown, ND.

She was born November 19, 1928 in McVille,  ND the daughter of Victor and Tena (Bothun) Nelson.  She grew up and attended school there and graduated from McVille High School.  She then attended business college for 1 ½ , Northwestern Bible School for three years, St. Luke School on Nursing in Fargo, ND where she received her Registered Nurses Degree.

Beatrice was a missionary nurse in the Congo and Cote’ d Ivoire, Africa for ten years.  She returned to Cooperstown, ND where she met and married Sidney Erickson July 31, 1971.  Beatrice worked at the Griggs County Hospital for 25 ½ years as Registered Nurse.  Sidney passed away August 30, 2000, Beatrice continued to make her home in Cooperstown until January of 2016 when she became a resident of the Griggs County Care Center.

She is survived by her sister, Joyce Erickson, Cooperstown, ND; several nieces, nephews; several great nieces and nephews and many cousins.

Visitation will be from 1 – 2pm Wednesday, January 15 in Saron Evangelical Free Church , followed by a Funeral services at 2:00 pm in the church.  Interment will be in the  Saron Evangelical Free Cemetery, rural Cooperstown, ND.
