Isabelle (Izzy) Peterson

ISABELLE (IZZY) PETERSON Isabelle M. Peterson 75, of Cooperstown, ND, passed away Saturday, September 18, 2010 in her home in Cooperstown, ND. Isabelle M. McKenna was born August 6, 1935 in Valley City, ND the daughter of Daniel and Mary (Wilken) McKenna. She grew up in Valley City and attended school there. She graduated from St. Catherin High School. She attended North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton where she received her LPN degree. She moved to Cooperstown, ND where she interned and worked at the Griggs County Hospital. She married Lawrence Peterson October 7, 1957 in Fargo, ND. The couple made their home in Blabon, ND and in 1961 they moved to Roth, ND. In 1972 the couple returned to Cooperstown. Isabelle worked in the Griggs County Nursing Home retiring in 1977; she continued to work part time. Lawrence passed away May 19, 2004. Izzy continued to make her home in Cooperstown. She enjoyed canning, crocheting, raising flowers and most of all her grandchildren. She is survived by three daughters: Becky (Rod) Harrington, Wolsey, SD; Wanda (Mike) Myers, Cooperstown, ND; Penny (Joe) Miller, Cooperstown, ND; five grandchildren: Dillon Harrington, Wolsey, SD; Dustin Myers, Garrison, ND; Amy Myers, Fargo, ND; Tina (Cole) Paintner, Fargo, ND; Jacqueline (Cordero) Patraw; Minot, ND; two brothers: Joe (Linda) McKenna, Valley City, ND; Daniel (MaryAnn) McKenna, Moorhead, MN; and many nieces and nephews. Isabelle was preceded in death by her parents: Daniel and Mary McKenna; husband, Lawrence; a brother Jimmy. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at 11:00 am in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Cooperstown, ND. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 21, 2010 from 5:00 till 7:00 in the Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral Home in Cooperstown and one hour before services in the Church. A Prayer Service will be held Tuesday at 7:00 in the Funeral Home. Interment will be Tuesday at 1:00 pm in the Hofva Cemetery, rural Finley, ND.
