Alethea H. Karsten

ALETHEA KARSTEN Alethea Hester Karsten was born October 24, 1928 in Michigan the daughter of Albert and Elsie (Raab) Karsten. She grew up and attended school there. She married William Boverhof April 15, 1946 in Forest Grove, MI. The couple made their home in Michigan and Montana, where Alethea worked as cook in several restaurants. Alethea enjoyed people, liked to travel, loved playing cards, had a great sense of humor and had a great love for animals. Alethea also loved knitting, crocheting, latch hook and bingo. Alethea is survived by six daughters: Barbara (David) Dean, Culbertson, MT; Diane Miller, Canton, SD; Karen (Ron) Rahlf, Binford, ND; Valerie (Joseph) Schovanec, South Sioux City, NE; Audrey Watts, Livingston, LA; Cindy (Ed) Everson, Hannaford, ND; one son: William Boverhof, Mobile, AL; nineteen grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents: Albert and Elsie; her husband: William; brothers: Maynard, Preston and Serenus; sons-in-law: Harvey and Jewel and two grandsons, Michael and Shawn. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 7:00 pm in the Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral Home in Cooperstown, ND. Visitation will be held Saturday from 5:00 till 7:00 in the Funeral Home.
