JOYCE ANDERSON Joyce Anderson, 83 of Cooperstown, ND, passed away Monday, September 6, 2010 in Mercy Hospital in Devils Lake, ND. Joyce Beverly Lorraine Anderson was born on October 24, 1926 in Cooperstown to Ole G. and Elvina (Olson) Anderson. She graduated from Aneta High School in 1943 and worked in the Sharon Bank. On November 17, 1945, she married Oliver Anderson of Binford. Along with farming, they owned Anderson Greenery for 23 years and were active in the Cooperstown business community, until retiring in 1999. They continued to farm for a few more years while attending grandchildren’s school and athletic events. Joyce was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. They moved to the Good Samaritan Center in Lakota in April, 2010. Joyce was a member of the West Prairie Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid, rural Binford. Joyce is survived by Oliver, her husband of nearly 65 years, daughter Julie (Scott) Ferry of Lakota, son Rick (Lori) Anderson of West Fargo, 4 grandchildren, Shawn Ferry, Christy (Tim) Ronningen, Morgan Anderson and Madison Anderson and 1 great-grandson Lakin Ronningen, sister Evelyn Young, Bethalto, Illinois, and many nieces and nephews, including special “adopted” family members Valerie and Daryl Griffin and Jennifer Elston. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law Leon Young. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 11:00 am in the West Prairie Lutheran Church, rural Binford, ND. Visitation will be held Friday, from 5:00 till 7:00 in the Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral Home in Cooperstown, ND and one hour before services in the Church. A Prayer Service will be held Friday at 7:00 in the Funeral Home. Interment will be in the West Prairie Lutheran Cemetery, rural Binford, ND.
