Doris Posey

DORIS E. POSEY Doris E. Posey, 90 of Grand Forks, ND died Friday, August 13, 2010 in the Cooperstown Medical Center, Cooperstown, ND. Doris Elizabeth Michaelson was born December 21, 1919 at Wimbledon, ND the daughter of Mike T. and Agnes (Ellefson) Michaelson. She grew up at Wimbledon and Glenfield, ND where she graduated from high school. She attended Valley City Normal School. March 12, 1942 she married Julian (Bud) Posey one week before he left for the U.S. Army during WWII. The couple moved to Grand Forks in the mid 1960’s. Doris worked as a child care provider, cook at the Glenfield School, caregiver and later a housekeeper at the Valley Memorial Home in Grand Forks. Julian died in July of 2000. Doris continued to make her home in Grand Forks. She is survived by 10 nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather, all five siblings and five step siblings. A Memorial Service will be held Friday August 20, 2010 in the Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral Home in Cooperstown, ND. Interment will be in the Glenfield Cemetery, Friday at 4:30 pm.
