Nicholas D. Dekker

A Memorial Services will be held Monday, December 21, 2009 at 1:00 pm in the St. Olaf Catholic Church in Finley, ND. A Prayer Service will be held Sunday at 7:00 in the Church. Nicholas D. Dekker, 64 of Minneapolis, passed away there, Monday, December, 14, 2009. Nicholas Demitrie Dekker was born May 22, 1945 in Northwood, ND the son of Omar and Dorothy (Tait) Dekker. He grew up and attended school in Finley, ND and graduated from Finley High School in 1964, later he graduated from Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, CA. Nick after working in the photography field for several years, he returned to the Brooks Institute of Photography to instruct students until his retirement in 2008. He moved to Minneapolis where he passed away Monday, December 14, 2009. He enjoyed running, walking through the country side, returning home to see family and friends and of course his deep love of photography. Nick is survived by his four siblings; Ben (Carolyn) Dekker, Aneta, ND; Peg (Dave) Muylaert, Anoka, MN; Joe (Barb) Dekker, Finley, ND; Jack (Debbie) Dekker, Grand Forks, ND and several nieces and nephews.
