Russell H. Wahl

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 2:00 pm in the St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Walum, ND. Visitation will be held Friday, March 19, 2010 from 5:00 till 7:00 in the Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral Home in Cooperstown, ND and one hour before services in the Church. A Prayer Service will be held Friday at 7:00 pm in the Funeral Home. Russell Howard Wahl was born February 10, 1915 in Minneapolis, MN, the son of Andrew H. and Minnie (Larson) Wahl. He attended rural school in Bartley Township and graduated from Hannaford High School in 1932. He married Dorothy Benson March 30, 1941 in Hannaford, ND. The couple farmed in Bartley Township rural Hannaford until 1979 when they moved into Hannaford. Dorothy passed away September 20, 2001. Russell continued to make his home in Hannaford until his death. Russell died Wednesday, March 17, 2010 in the Cooperstown Medical Center Hospital in Cooperstown, ND. Russell is survived by three daughters: Margaret Lima, Valley City, ND; Cynthia (Arden) LaBonte, Side Lake, MN; Rebecca Henderson, Eyota, MN; one son: Richard (Karen) Wahl, Hannaford, ND; ten grandchildren; four great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Patty Benson, Mary (Harry) Hiebert and Ruth (Ron) Berge. Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy; son, John; son-in-law, Ronald Lima.; adopted sister, Elaine (Jacobson) Dingman.
