LEONA TANDE

LEONA TANDE Leona Tande, 82 of Binford, ND passed away August 14, 2017 at Cooperstown Medical Center Hospital in Cooperstown, ND. Leona was born February 19, 1935 to Albin and Agnes (Fredrickson) Saxberg. She grew up in rural Griggs County. She married Bernard Tande on September 10, 1952. Two daughters were born to them, Beverly (Jonathon) Kjar, Aneta, ND; and Barbara Tande, Binford, ND. She cooked many a meals for the local cafe, School, and Senior Center. Leona had a love for crossword puzzles, horseshoes and the Minnesota Twins. She is survived by her two daughters; two brothers; Arnold (Judy) Saxberg, Arden (Nita) Saxberg; five sisters; Esther Peterson, Eunice Papenfuss, Velma Miller, Diane Bickerton, Helen Fallen and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bernard, granddaughter Rachel, sister Mavis Adrain, and six brothers-in-law. A Prayer Service will be held Sunday, August 20, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral Home in Cooperstown, ND. A Memorial Service will be held, Monday, August 21, 2017 at 11:00 am in the Trinity Lutheran Church, Binford, ND. Interment will be in the West Prairie Cemetery, rural Binford, ND at 12:45 pm on Monday.
