DONA SATROM Dona Marie Satrom, 90, Hope, ND, was born October 9, 1926 on the home farm near Clifford, ND, the daughter of Walter and Thea (Larson) Thompson. She grew up and attended school in Clifford and graduated from Clifford High School. Dona married Arno (Bun) D. Satrom on June 27, 1947 in Seattle, WA and the two spent a year-and-a-half working in Seattle. They returned to Clifford in 1948 to farm her family’s farmstead four miles west of Clifford where they lived until 2007. Bun died July 21, 2007 and Dona then moved to Hope where she lived her remaining days. Dona was active in her earlier years teaching Sunday school, belonging to her circle and serving on the ladies aide committees at Norman Lutheran Church in Clifford. In recent years she liked to entertain the ladies of her circle for their yearly Christmas party in her home. Her hobbies included cooking, baking cookies, playing cards at Senior Citizens, reading and visiting on the phone with family and friends. Most of all she enjoyed being a grandma to 11 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Dona is survived by son, Reed (Dorothy) Satrom, Detroit Lakes, MN, daughter Carmen (Randy) Richards, Hope, ND, and son Randal (Vicki) Satrom, Thornton, CO; 10 Grandchildren Nathan Satrom, Parker, CO, Matthew (Heather) Satrom, Mayville, ND, and Holly (Sam) Disse, Detroit Lakes, MN; Tony (Alicia) Richards, Hope, ND, Katie Richards, Mayville, ND and Brandi (Darin) Stromstad, Beltrami, MN; Nicole Satrom, Thornton, CO, Jerod (Krissy) Satrom, Mayville, ND, Joshua Satrom, Thornton, CO, and Morgan Satrom, Mayville, ND; 23 Great Grandchildren Caden and Brooklyn Satrom, Alicia Gibson, Caityln Gibson, Harley Parrow, Evie and Veronica Satrom, Mox, Lila, Lucy and Harlow Disse, Sophia, Rian and Britan Richards, Marit, Lawyer, Marshall and Case Judisch, Andreas, Jonas and Marius Stromstad, Eli and Silas Satrom; and two sisters Eidell Dennis, Seattle, WA, and Winnefred Leverson, Bismarck, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, LaVern Hansen, one brother, Wesley Thompson, and one granddaughter, Monica (Richards) Patterson. Visitation will be from 1-2 Thursday, July 20, 2017 followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 pm in the Norman Lutheran, Clifford, ND.
