LILY GOOD Lily Good, 92, Finley, died Monday, October 10, 2016 in the Aneta Parkview Health Care Center. Lily Good was born November 24, 1923 in Pilot Mound Township, Griggs County, ND, the daughter of Halvor and Nina (Kvale) Hegna. She grew up and attended school in the Aneta and Kloten area. She married Donald Good October 20, 1943 in Moorhead, MN. The couple made their first home in Seattle, WA, and worked in the defense industry, after Donald returned from the war in 1946 they moved to Finley & lived on a farm SW of Finley, Lily worked at Finley Public School helping in the kitchen in the late 60's. In 1983 they moved into Finley. Donald passed away in 2000. Lily continued to live in her home until the fall of 2013 when she became a resident of Aneta Parkview Health Care Center. The family appreciates the excellent care given by APHCC. She enjoyed her flowers and garden, and spending time with her family and grandchildren. Lily loved to cook and bake, if you stopped by one afternoon you would get served a plate of 5 types of cookies, and expected to try every one of them, a bowl of ice cream, a bun and luncheon meat. She made the best flat bread in town. Lily and Donald loved traveling to the west coast and visit her sisters. Bingo was very important in Lily’s life in her later years. She was a member of Finley Lutheran Church & WELCA. She is survived by her children: Linda (Joel) Anderson, Finley, Donella (Tom) Roble, Fargo, Randy (Kathy) Finley, eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers: Adler, Johnny, and Manley, sisters: Alvina, Agnes, Hilda, and Olene. Visitation will be Sunday, October 16, 2016 from 5 till 7pm in the Finley Lutheran Church, Finley, ND and one hour before services in the Church. A Prayer Service will be Sunday at 7pm in the Church, Funeral services will be Monday, October 17, 2016 at 11am in the Finley Lutheran Church with Pastor Cheryl Berg officiating. Interment will be in the Finley, Cemetery, Finley, ND.
