WARREN J. COLE Warren J. Cole was born October 31, 1924 in Luverne ND to Fred and Cynthia (Baker) Cole. He was raised in Hope ND where he attended school. He worked for Mike Kainz and then went to worked as a rigger in the ship yards in Bremerton WA. Warren joined the Marines March 29, 1944-1946 He saw action in Saipan, Tinian, Okinawa and also the occupation of Japan. He was honorable discharged in March of 1946. Sept 3, 1947 he started work for Northwestern Bell Telephone company where he worked for 32 1/2 years until he retired March 18, 1980. December 29, 1951 he married Joyce Hagebock. They lived in Fargo and raised their family in Hope. Warren was a member of United Church of Hope, American Legion for 61 years, V.F.W. He also served on he School Board, Park Board, Civic Cub and Fireman's. He is a honorary member of Communications Workers of American and Telephone Pioneers. In his retirement he enjoyed his family, wood working, reading, watching TV, word search books and jig saw puzzles, and most recently coloring. A highlight of his retirement Warren and his son visited the WWII War Memorial in Washington DC. Survived by his wife Joyce three children Ron (Brenda) of Grand Forks, Darcel Jacobson of Hope. Tammy (Scott) Parkman of San Felipe, Baja Mexico. His sister LaNora MCullough of Hope and sister in law Joyce Cole of Grand Prairie, Texas. Eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and many friends. Proceeded in death by his parents, brothers Rueben, Richard, William, Sterling, Dellivan and Sister LaMae. Warren passed away surrounded by his loving and caring family, under the care of CHI Hospice. Funeral services will be Thursday, September 15, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the Hope American Legion, Hope, ND. Visitation will be in the Hope American Legion, one hour before services. Interment will be in the Hope Cemetery. You will be missed Warren Boy.
