PHYLLIS SIMENSON Phyllis Naomi Langager Simenson, 92, Cooperstown, ND died Tuesday, January 19, 2016 in the Griggs County Care Center, Cooperstown, ND. Phyllis was born January 5, 1924 in Hugo Twsp. Steele, Co. ND the daughter of Swen and Ada (Lambert) Langager the 7th of 10 children. She grew up in the Hope area and graduated from Hope High School. She attended Interstate Business School in Fargo and worked at the ASCS office in Finley, ND until marriage to Sever Simenson June 10, 1946. They farmed near Glenfield, ND until Sever’s death in 1974. She then moved into Cooperstown and worked at the ASCS office until retiring in 1989. Phyllis was a member of the Prairie Faith Church, VFW Auxiliary, Home Makers, Bridge Club and Red Hat Ladies. She was an avid gardener and loved to be outside in the flower beds and a large vegetable garden. She spent many peaceful hours digging in the dirt and filling her house with bouquets of lilies and spider mums. She is survived by her son, Leonard (JoAnn), Glenfield, ND; daughters, Rebecca (Robert) Delfs, Binford, ND, Susan (Arlyn Hoyt) Bakko, McHenry, ND; eight grandchildren, Laura, Jennifer, Daniel, Michael, John, Lisa, Leslie and Anne; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Marion Olafson, Sheyenne Valley Care Center, Valley City, ND and Olive Zerface, Elim Care Center, Fargo, ND and several nieces and nephews. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Sever; one grandson, four sisters and three brothers. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 2:30 pm in the Prairie Faith Lutheran Church, Glenfield, ND. Visitation will be Friday, January 22, 2016 from 5:00 till 7:00 in the Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral Home in Cooperstown, ND and one hour before services in the Church. A Prayer Service will be Friday at 7:00 in the Funeral Home. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, ND.
