ALLEN A. KENNINGER Allen A. Kenninger, 76 of Cooperstown, ND passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, December 13, 2015. Allen was born on November 19, 1939 in Jessie, ND the son of Ben & Myrtle (Becherl) Kenninger. He graduated from Cooperstown High School in 1957 and then enlisted in the US Army. He served overseas and earned the Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged in May 1960. After the military, Allen worked at the Lakota Cheese Factory. He met the love of his life, Pauline Kraft and they married September 4, 1965. They made their home in Jessie, ND. Allen worked for Griggs County and then owned and operated his own trucking company, Valley Truck Line, for 25 years. They moved to Cooperstown in 1973. Allen also worked for PRO Transport and Strand Ready Mix before retiring in 2004. Allen’s family was his pride and joy. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who always put his family first. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing, making lefse, and watching football with his children and grandchildren. His morning walks to get the mail, visits with Al at the barbershop, reading the paper with his coffee, and gardening were a few of the simple things he loved. Allen was a lifetime member of St. Lawrence & St. George’s Catholic Church and served as an usher and on the parish council. Allen will be deeply missed by his wife of over 50 years, Pauline; seven children; Randy (Allison) of Fargo, ND, Terry (Tina) of Cooperstown, ND, Tom (Melissa) of Rosemount, MN, Valerie (Nathan) Reuter of St. Cloud, MN, Melanie (Jim) Rogers of Cooperstown, ND, Jamy (Kate) of Bismarck, ND, and Jeffrey (fiancé Alexandra Wilkins) of Cooperstown, ND; his 13 grandchildren; Randall, Maddy, Jack, Elly, Will, Daphne, Kayla, Jacob, Abby, Ben, Sara, Katherine, Jessie; his sister Marge (Jack) Moehr of Joplin, MO and sister-in-law Karen Kenninger of Argusville, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Dale & John. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 17th at 10:30 am in St. George Catholic Church, Cooperstown, ND. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 till 7:00 in the Church and one hour before services in the Church. A Prayer Service will be Wednesday at 7:00 in the Church. Interment will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery, Jessie, ND.
