LOIS LARSON

LOIS LARSON Lois Larson, 84, Hannaford, ND, died Monday, November 30, 2015 at the Griggs County Care Center, Cooperstown, ND. Lois A. (Bjorke) Larson was born December 6, 1930 to Waldo and Anna (Borseth) Bjorke at Abercrombie, ND. She graduated from Abercrombie High School in 1948 and graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, in 1954. On January 17, 1955, she married Donald J. Larson in Fjelstad Hall on the campus of Concordia College, Moorhead, MN. Together they lived and farmed near Hannaford, ND. Lois was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and dedicated much of her life to the church, serving as church librarian, WELCA president, Sunday school teacher, church council member/president, Jamestown Conference president, Eastern ND Synod president, and also served on the national commission for the new Lutheran Church. Lois loved music, reading, sewing, and a good game of hand and foot with her husband or grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Donald; son Daniel (Marla) Larson; daughter Lu Andrea (Brian) Haugen, all of Hannaford, ND; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother John (Flo) Bjorke, Bismarck, ND; sister June (Ardell) Helgeson, Moorhead, MN; sister Linda (Wayne) Monge, Fargo, ND; four nieces; and three nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and daughter Lee Anna Leier. Funeral services will be Friday, December 4, 2015 at 10:30 am in the Faith Lutheran Church, Hannaford, ND. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 till 7:00 in the Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral Home in Cooperstown, ND and one hour before services in the Church. A Prayer Service will be Thursday at 7:00 pm in the Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow the service on Friday, in the Faith Cemetery, rural Hannaford, ND.
