HARVEY A. BENSON Harvey A. Benson, 67, Hannaford, ND died Thursday, April 30, 2015 in Sanford Palliative Care, Fargo, ND. Harvey was born March 11, 1948 in Valley City, ND the son of Homer and Helen (Nelson) Benson. He grew up in the Hannaford, ND area and graduated from Hannaford High School. He attended NDSU in Fargo, ND and Business College in Minneapolis, MN. Harvey married Patricia L. Fortuna July 5, 1969 in Gregory, SD. The couple made their home in Minneapolis and Fargo before moving to Cooperstown, ND in 1973. They owned and operated Someplace Else Furniture and Flooring. Harvey was an expert carpet and linoleum layer. As the years went by, and his knees grew tired, he began selling Iron Workers Harvey had many talents and hobbies. He loved hunting and collecting Indian artifacts from the Sheyenne Valley River bottom. His love of welding was evident with the many unique projects he completed. He enjoyed serving many years on the Griggs Co Fair Board and taking his son Nick to horse shows. He loved to cook and even got to cook Willie Nelson a steak at the State Fair. He had love for his grandchildren and loved taking his grandson Taylor fishing to the Bald Hill Creek which he enjoyed so much. He is survived by his son; Nicholas (Grace) of Vermillion, SD; daughter, Joy (Terry) Boon, Thornton, CO; grandchildren, Victoria, Nicholas, Isabella, Taylor and Ella; sister, Karen (Gene) Brown, East Schodack, NY. He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Helen. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 3:00 pm at the Hannaford Cemetery, Hannaford, ND. A reception will follow at the Shack in Hannaford, ND
