KNUD M. RONDE Jr.

November 7, 1924 — March 28, 2015

KNUD MORTON RONDE JR. Knud Morton Ronde Jr., 90, Hope, ND passed away, Saturday, March 28, 2015 in the Sheyenne Valley Care Center, Valley City, ND. He was the first born child (Nov. 7, 1924) of Knud Sr. and Gladys (Wood) Ronde. He attended school in Luverne and Hope, ND. After joining and spending time in Italy, he returned to Hope and fell in love with Marilyn Jean Johnson at a local dance. One of their favorite past times was attending dances around the area and they became well known for their dancing skills, especially the polka!!!!. On January 8, 1950 they were united in marriage and began their life of farming and raising five children. In addition to dancing, another of Knud’s love was for the horses. His kids referred to him as the “horse whisperer” because of the knack he had with training horses, especially his trick horse “Trixie”! Along with his dad he was involved with chariot racing until an unfortunate attempt at racing ended that past time. He could sure ride two horses at once in the Roman fashion with a foot on the back of each horse!! He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, five children Marcy Voss, Hawley, MN; Steve (Rocio) Ronde, Dallas TX; Cindy (Tim) Wagner, Sidney, MT; Dana Ronde, Hope, ND; Lisa (Larry) Erickson, Hope, ND; eleven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren; sister, Norma VenHuizen, Valley City, ND; brother, Mason Ronde, Minot, ND and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 2:00 pm in the Hope American Legion Hall, Hope, ND. The family would like to thank the staff at the Sheyenne Care Center for the excellent care given to our mom and dad while there.
