WALTER FRANK KERBAUGH

WALTER FRANK KERBAUGH Walter Frank Kerbaugh, 85, Cooperstown, ND, died Monday, February 16, 2015 in the Griggs County Care Center, Cooperstown, ND. Mr. Kerbaugh was born on January 28, 1930 in Ray, ND the son of Anna (Corville) and Frank Kerbaugh. He was one of ten children. He graduated from Noltimier Consolidated School. Walter married Ruth Priebe at Camp Rucker in Alabama in 1951. He served in the National Guard from January 1951 to June of 1952 achieving the rank of Corporal. After starting a family in Valley City, ND, they moved to Cooperstown, ND in 1959. Walt and Ruth owned and operated Cooper Cleaners from 1959 till 1979. He worked in the Griggs County Auditor’s office and was Griggs County Auditor, retiring in in 2003. Walt enjoyed playing golf, fishing, watching his sons play all sports, his grand and great children, collecting John Deere memorabilia and was Green Bay Packer Fan. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Cooperstown American Legion and the Cooperstown Country Club. Mr. Kerbaugh is survived by his wife, Ruth, and five sons, Terry, Jamestown, ND, Jerry, Sacramento, CA, Joel (Angie), Harwood, ND, Scot (Sally), Annandale, MN, Mark (Michelle), West Fargo, ND, six grandchildren, two step grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Walt was preceded by his parents and a step-father, son Jon, four sisters and five brothers. Memorial services will be Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 10:30 am in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Cooperstown, ND.
