Alice Jessie Amundson Alice Jessie Still was born December21, 1926 in rural Sherbrooke, North Dakota to Donald and Jessie (Perry) Still. She was the oldest of 3 sisters, Elsie (Miller) of Seattle, and Mildred (Holm) of Moorhead. She attended rural grade school in Sherbrooke and then boarded in Finley for high school. She attended Mayville State Teachers College for 3 summers for a rural teacher’s certificate and taught in the rural school system for 3 years. She married Chester Amundson September 18, 1947, and raised 7 children-Lois Amundson of Mpls, Larry Amundson of Finley, Wayne Amundson of Hope, Vickie Amundson of Grand Forks, Terryl Ostmo (Robert) of Wahpeton, Keith Amundson (deceased), and Tracie Noyes of Finley. Alice was very active in ST. Petri Lutheran Church until it closed in 1993, and then in the Finley Lutheran Church. She was also involved in the American Legion Auxiliary. Alice continued to live on the farm after Chester’s death in 2002, gardening, quilting, crocheting, embroidering, oil painting and reading. She was a caring, kind person who always put others first. She was admitted to Hatton Prairie Village, June 30, 2014. She died peacefully on December, 26 2014. She leaves behind 8 grandchildren-Jeremy Amundson of Mpls. Ashley Amundson of Dickinson, Dori Amundson of Fargo, Michael Amundson of Denver, Karl Ostmo of Mountain View, CA, Per (Tori) Ostmo of Taiwan, Kellie Noyes of Fargo, Nick Noyes of Grand Forks, and great granddaughter Anna Noyes of Fargo. She is preceded in death by her parents Donald and Jessie Still, husband Chester and son Keith. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 10:30 am in the Finley Lutheran Church, Finley, ND. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 till 7:00 in the Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral Home, Finley, ND and one hour before services in the Church. A Prayer Service will be Friday at 7:00 pm in the Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Pickert Cemetery, Pickert, ND.
