LAWRENCE H. GEIGER Lawrence H. Geiger, 86, Cooperstown, ND, died Saturday December 13, 2014 in his home in Cooperstown, ND. Lawrence Harry Geiger was born August 10, 1928 in Cooperstown, ND the son of Joseph and Alvina (Zimprich) Geiger. He was raised on a farm north of Jessie, ND and attended Pilot Mound School. In 1944 his folks bought a farm west of Cooperstown, ND. In 1951 he met Helen Kunze and they were married November 17, 1952 in St. George Catholic Church in Cooperstown. The couple went to Kansas until the spring of 1953 when they returned and took over his father’s farm, where they raised four children. In 1998 he retired and moved into Cooperstown. Lawrence worked for the Melroe Company, Griggs County Road Department and Reiten Manufacturing. Lawrence enjoyed reading, watching western movies, playing cards and listening to polka music. He was very involved in St. George Catholic Church, serving on the cemetery board and was sexton for many years. He is survived by his; children, Ronald, Robert (Tammy), Ranae (Roger) Larson all of Cooperstown, ND, Gregory, Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren, Aaron and Adam Larson, Tiffany (Jon) Anderson, Dustyn (Cari) Vasfaret; 3 great granddaughters, Avery Anderson, Caitlyn and Danielle Vasfaret; brother, Leonard (Evelyn) Geiger, Valley City, ND; step-sisters, Arlene (Frank) Heinz, Cooperstown, ND, Sister Margaret Rose Pfeifer, Fargo, ND, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Alvina; wife, Helen; grandson, Robbie Geiger; brother, Leo; sister, Mary Fode; daughter-in-law, Loraine; sister-in-law, Dorothy Geiger; brother-in-law, Gary Fode, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at 10:30 am in St. George Catholic Church in Cooperstown, ND. Visitation will be Tuesday December 16, 2014 from 5:00 till 7:00 pm in the Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral Home and one hour before services in the Church. A Prayer Service will be Tuesday at 7:00 pm in the funeral home. Interment will be in St. George Catholic Cemetery, Cooperstown, ND.
