ELLA BEATRICE KROER

June 9, 1923 — August 26, 2014

Ella Beatrice Kroer, 91, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, August 26, 2014, at Parkwood Senior Living, Grand Forks, ND. Ella was born June 9, 1923, in Sverdrup Township, Griggs County, ND, the daughter of Lars and Elizabeth (Loge) Gjesdal. At the age of one her family moved to Riverside Township, Steel e County. She attended rural grade school at Riverside #1 and graduated from Cooperstown High School in 1941. On March 27, 1962, Ella married Harvey Kroer at Luverne Lutheran Church, Luverne, ND and together they lived on the Kroer family farm until 2010 when they moved to Grand Forks Parkwood Senior Living. Her life was full on the farm and she especially enjoyed grandkids’ visits. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. Ella is survived by her only child Jan (Joe) Kulbacki, Grand Forks; five grandchildren: Jayme (Scott) Newell, Aldie, VA, Justin (Julie) Hinschberger, Grand Forks, Jocelyn Hinschberger, Chantilly, VA, Didi (Tom) Klusmann, Golden Valley, MN and Mandy Kulbacki, Phoenix, AZ; six great-grandchildren: Matthew, Grace and Donovan Newell, Zachary and Katelyn Hinschberger, and Lola Kulbacki. Nephew Brad Gjesdal , Cooperstown, and his family Garret, Lindsay and girls, Lake Bronson, MN and Erika, Wahpeton, ND and niece Brenda Gjesdal, also of Wahpeton. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harvey, her brother Lloyd and sister-in-law Doris and infant great-grandson, Logan Kulbacki, as well as Brenda’s daughter, Annie and Brad’s wife, Rhonda. Ella will be fondly remembered by those who knew and loved her. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to “Ella’s Girls” for their devoted care and friendship to Ella and Harvey. A celebration of Ella’s life will be held at a later date followed by a burial service for her and Harvey at the Luverne Church Cemetery. THERE IS LOVE THAT WILL LIVE FOREVEVER, AND THERE ARE MEMORIES THAT WILL SHINE THROUGH THE SORROW.
