EVELYN FLIFLET Evelyn Fliflet, 91, of Hannaford, N.D. went to be with the Lord Friday, July 25, 2014, at the Griggs County Care Center in Cooperstown, N.D. Evelyn, daughter of Gustav and Klara (Kaashagen) Fliflet was born June 17, 1923, in Hannaford, N.D, where she grew up and graduated from Hannaford High School in 1941. Evelyn attended New York Hairdressing Academy in Fargo. She worked as a beautician in Valley City. Evelyn was the official family beautician, giving haircuts and permanents too numerous to count. She attended Dakota Business College in Fargo and was employed by J.I. Case Company for a time. Evelyn was employed by Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in Fargo for many years. Upon retiring in 1979, she moved back to Hannaford. Evelyn was a life member of both the VFW Auxiliary in Fargo, and of the American Legion Auxiliary in Hannaford. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church of Hannaford, and the Friendly Fun maker’s senior citizens club, where she served as president for many years. She served as treasurer for the ALA and secretary of the Griggs County Council for the Aged. She was also a member of the South Central Adult Services Council. Evelyn loved visiting, and playing cards and Yahtzee with family and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents Gustav and Klara Fliflet, brothers- Lawrence, Sam, Oscar and Palmer; sisters- Bernice Aalgaard, and Laura Stromme; nieces- Penny Fonseco and Lynne Ann Monroe; nephews- Joseph Fliflet and Scott Fliflet. Nieces and nephews of Evelyn’s are: Mike (Shirley) Fliflet and Russell Fliflet of Hannaford, ND; Steve (Bev) Fliflet of West Fargo ND; Debbie (Bill) Doremus of Lafayette, Indiana; Patsy (Dave) Littan and Pam Metzler of CA; Curt Stromme of OR; Gerry (Jessica) Aalgaard of Dickson, TN, Ginger (Don) Oelrich of Sabin, MN; Claire (Gary) Swenson of Valley City, ND. Evelyn had 22 great-nieces and nephews, 27 great-great nieces and nephews, and twin great great great nephews. Family was very important to her. She was loved and will be deeply missed. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at 2:30 pm in the Faith Lutheran Church, Hannaford, ND, and visitation will be Wednesday from 1:00 till 2:30 in the Church. A Prayer Service will be at 1:00 in the Church. Interment will be in the Faith Cemetery, Hannaford, ND.
