HELEN R. GEIGER Helen R. Geiger, 83, Cooperstown, ND, died Friday, November 01, 2013 in the Griggs County Care Center, Cooperstown, ND. Helen Rosella was born December 19, 1929 in Valley City, ND the daughter of Joe B. and Helen (Heinze) Kunze. She was raised on a farm east of Dazey, ND and attended Ladbury School thru the eighth grade. She did a lot of baby sitting and some restaurant work in Cooperstown, ND. In 1951 she met Lawrence Geiger and they were married November 17, 1952 in St. George Catholic Church in Cooperstown. The couple went to Kansas until the spring of 1953 when they returned and took over his father’s farm, where they raised four children. In 1978 she worked at the Griggs County Hospital in dietary retiring in March of 1998 and moved into Cooperstown in August. Helen enjoyed crocheting, baking, cooking, gardening, spending time with her great granddaughter Avery and she was very active in the Church. She is survived by her husband, Lawrence, Cooperstown, ND; children, Ronald, Robert (Tammy), Ranae (Roger) Larson all of Cooperstown, ND, Gregory, Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren, Aaron and Adam Larson, Tiffany (Jon) Anderson, Dustyn (Cari) Vasfaret; 3 great granddaughters, Avery Anderson, Caitlyn and Danielle Vasfaret; sisters, Florence Pickar, Brainard, MN, Dolores Nogowski, Clarkston, WA, Beatrice ( Richard) Fuchs, Pomeroy, WA; brothers, Sylvester Kunze, Clarkston, WA, Wilfred Kunze, Dazey, ND, Gerald Kunze, Sibley, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Helen; grandson, Robbie Geiger and daughter-in-law, Loraine; sister Alvina Knight. Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at 10:30 am in St. George Catholic Church in Cooperstown, ND. Visitation will be Monday, November 4, 2013 from 5:00 till 7:00 pm in the funeral home and one hour before services in the Church. A Prayer Service will be Monday at 7:00 pm in the funeral home. Interment will be in St. George Catholic Cemetery, Cooperstown, ND.
