JOYCE HEINZ Joyce Ernestine (Zimprich) Heinz passed away on August 6, 2013 at the Griggs County Care Center. Joyce was born on September 16, 1925 to Joseph & Anna (Fiebiger) Zimprich on the family farm 6 miles southeast of Aneta ND. She was baptized & confirmed at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Aneta. She attended country school through the 8th grade, graduated from Aneta High School and went on to receive her 2 year teaching certificate from the Teachers College in Valley City ND. Joyce taught for 2 years in a country school in Romness Township. She married Richard Heinz on June 10, 1947 in Aneta, ND. They farmed and had dairy cows for 46 years. Joyce was very active in every aspect of the farming operation. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Jessie and served on the Parish Council and the Altar Society. She was a 4-H leader and belonged to a Homemakers Club. Joyce enjoyed growing large vegetable and fruit gardens along with the flowers that she loved. She was an excellent seamstress and used that talent for everything from patching jeans to sewing wedding & bridesmaid dresses. Joyce made quilts for all her children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren, she also liked to embroider. She is survived by her five children: Becky (Darrell) Schroeder; Oriska ND, Jerry (Nancy Frosaker) Heinz; West Fargo ND, JoAnn (Joel) Knudson; Arvilla ND, Daniel (Sharon) Heinz; Cooperstown, Gloria (Philip) Schramm; Mentor MN, 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters: Mary Jane Sears, Aneta, ND and Anne Speldrich, Sykeston ND. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Richard, 2 brothers: Edward & Joe Zimprich and 1 sister Rozella Evenstad. Funeral services will be, Monday, August, 12, 2013 at 10:30 am in St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Jessie, ND. Visitation will be Sunday, August 11, 2013 from 5:00 till 7:00 in the Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral Home in Cooperstown, ND and one hour before services in the Church. A Prayer Service will be Sunday at 7:00 pm in the Funeral Home.
