MILO E. TAXDAHL Milo E. Taxdahl, 82, Fargo, ND formerly of Cooperstown, ND, died Thursday, December 6, 2012 in Villa Maria Nursing Home in Fargo, ND after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Milo was born August 28, 1930 near Hannaford, ND the son of Hartvick and Violet (Feske) Taxdahl. He attended rural school before moving into Cooperstown in May of 1941 and continuing his education. He served in the US Army from 1951 to 1953. One of his duties was as a barber; he told stories of cutting Gen. MacArthur’s hair. After his honorable discharge he helped build the Kansas Turnpike. During this time he met his future wife, Zella May Nicholson and they married August 26, 1956 in Anthony, KS. They were blessed with five children, Debi, Michelle, Travis, Jason and Tara. For a short time he helped build grain elevators in Oklahoma and Illinois. His love of farming brought him back to Cooperstown to farm his Uncle Rudolf’s land, where he raised his family. After semi-retiring from farming he did blood runs for the area hospitals and volunteering to transport elderly patients to their doctor’s appointments in the surrounding areas. Milo was a great father, husband, friend, farmer and pinochle player. He never met a stranger and would give you the shirt off his back. He always had the coffee pot on and you never left his house hungry. Milo enjoyed his (spur of the moment) trips to see family in Missouri and Oklahoma, but always loved coming back home to what he called “God’s Country”. He is survived by his wife, Zella, Fargo, ND; children, Debi (David) Wyckoff, Michelle (David) Semerad, Travis Taxdahl, Jason (Marcie) Taxdahl, Tara (Matthew) Fee; brother, Jack (Joyce) Taxdahl; brother-in-law Alfred Frappier; grandchildren, Danica, Dominick, Devin, Dawson, Mikala, Tanner, Christopher, Chelsey, Carly, Allen and Wendie; and eleven great grandchildren. Milo was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Norma and JoAnn. Funeral services will be Monday, December 10, 2012 at 10:30 am in the Grace Lutheran Church in Cooperstown. Visitation will be Sunday, December 9, 2012 from 5:00 till 7:00 in the Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral Home in Cooperstown and one hour before services in the Church. A Prayer Service will be Sunday at 7:00 pm in the Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Hartman Cemetery, Sutton, ND at 1:00 Monday.
