ROBERT G. HEDSTROM Robert G. Hedstrom, 76, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 10, 2012 Cooperstown, ND. Robert (Bob) was born June 6, 1936 in Sharon, ND the son of Arthur and Ella (Dahly) Hedstrom. He grew up and attended school in Aneta, ND graduating in 1954. On October 9, 1955 Robert married Arlene Erickson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cooperstown, ND. They settled north of Cooperstown, where they established Hedstrom Farms They worked together for 40 years to build a livestock, grain and custom farming operation.He was also active in Soil Conservation efforts, township leadership, his church and his community. Robert enjoyed carpentry, building projects, hunting and spending winters in Harlingen, TX. Robert loved music from an early age. He was a talented saxophone player and along with his brother Alden, formed the Al & Bob Hedstrom Trio. They entertained throughout the region for over 20 years. He remained active in music in his retirement years through participation in the Cooperstown Community Band and by providing dance music with other talented snowbirds in Texas. Robert lost his beloved wife, Arlene in 1996. He married Grace Nolte on June 6, 1999 in Cooperstown, ND. They continued to live on the family farm and spend winters in Texas. He will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his love of coffee and visiting with friends and especially for his generous nature. He is survived by his wife, Grace, Cooperstown, ND; his children, Dawn (Mark) Bergan, Beavercreek, OR, Bryan (Amber) Hedstrom, Cooperstown, ND; three grandsons, Timothy (Victoria) Erickson, Cooperstown, ND, Derrik (Kasey) Hedstrom, Cooperstown, ND, Grant Hedstrom, Fargo, ND; great grandchildren, Anna and Lars Erickson, Cooperstown, ND; brother, Alden Hedstrom, Fargo, ND; sisters, Eunice Sondreal, Grand Forks, ND, Donna Blank, Campbell, CA; stepdaughters, Susan (Carl) Jacob, Charles City, IA, Linda (Gary) Crawford, Toronto, Ontario and step granddaughter Jennifer Jacob, Brooklyn, NY. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Arlene, brother Arvid; sisters, Viola and Alyce. Funeral Services will be Thursday, November 15, 2012 at 10:30 am in the Trinity Lutheran Church Cooperstown, ND. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 14, 2012 from 5:00 till 7:00 pm in the Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral Home, Cooperstown, ND and one hour before services in the Church. A Prayer Service will be Wednesday at 7:00 pm in the Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Cooperstown Cemetery, Cooperstown, ND
